	2008 State Tournament Info Dear Hockey Coaches: In just a few weeks, the greatest high school sporting event in the country will take place in St. Paul, Minnesota. During the tournament, the Minnesota Hockey Coaches Association (MHCA) will be busy trying to make this a special event for all of our members whether they are in the tournament or not. The Crowne Plaza will be the coaches’ headquarters. If you have not yet taken advantage of the special room rate for our members, you should call (651) 292-1900 by February 20th for your reservations . This must be done as soon as possible to get the special rate of $119 per night. --------------------------------- 17^th ANNUAL MHCA HALL OF FAME DINNER The Minnesota Hockey Coaches Association is again sponsoring dinner for all member coaches and guests BETWEEN AFTERNOON AND EVENING GAMES THURSDAY MARCH 6^TH We will induct into our Hall of Fame: Bucky Kendig Vic St.Martin Jake McCoy Bill Smrekar We will also present the Cliff Thompson award to Jim Pohl and the Dave Peterson Award to Ty Eigner Registration Form can be downloaded here. ---------------------------------- COACHES SOCIAL – CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL FRIDAY, MARCH 7^TH Between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m., we will have a cocktail party at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, MHCA Suite Sponsored by the MHCA for all member coaches and their guests Complimentary hot hors d’oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available. We hope all of our members will stop by and be a part of this great event. There will be no further invitations sent, so please spread the word among all coaches. -------------------------------- ANNUAL COACHES MEETING AND BREAKFAST MINNESOTA WILD HEADQUARTERS 317 WASHINGTON AVENUE On Saturday, March 8^th, at 8:30 a.m. we will have our annual Coaches Membership Meeting A breakfast buffet will be served free of charge to all member coaches and many important matters will be dealt with at this meeting, so we encourage all members to attend. --------------------------------- COACHES ROOM AT THE XCEL ENERGY CENTER DURING THE TOURNAMENT During the tournament, there will be a hospitality room for all member coaches. Admittance is by membership card. Coffee pot and hors d’oeuvres will be provided. This is a good time to socialize with other coaches. Located in the Press Interview Room in the lower level of the arena. -------------------------------- ACADEMIC STATE CHAMPION PROGRAM Application and Information can be downloaded here. Please fill out and return them to Mac by March 2^nd. This is a very positive program for hockey and is great recognition of our kids. --------------------------------- We hope all member coaches will be able to attend.
